Google Analytics NEW vs OLD Interface

There is a difference in Revenue update between the 2 interfaces. Data in OLD interface gets updated first than the NEW interface. I have been checking the data for more than an hour, the NEW interface is not updated yet.

Why is the difference in Update since there is a change in the interface alone?

Keep in mind the new interface is still in beta. If you look closely on some of the reports, the results do not match between the old and new interface even though they use the same data. There are some things they are still working out. If the results are critical to you, I recommend you stick with the old reports for awhile.

I prefer the old style reports anyway. It took time to figure out where everything was and now, with the new style report, I can't find what I want quickly.

I'll stick with the old one until they take it away.

I'll happily pass feedback along, one way or the other.

I sit very near to a colleague who is deeply involved with Google Analytics - and hear from him that feedback regarding the new UI is "overwhelmingly positive", to use his words.

However, every comment regarding something that is not working as well for Analytics users is a good chance to learn - and I will pass them on.

So, long may this thread run. ;)

I have some problem with analytics where i cannot find the Revenue data in analytics but the revenue is reported in the Adwords report. I dont know whether the revenue in the Adwords report is correct or not.

Is there any problem with Analytics code not being installed properly or a problem with analytics itself?

Please advice is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi admagix

I'd rather not de-rail the focus of this thread on the new UI versus the old Analytics UI - but I did catch my Analytics colleague on the fly just now - and he thought that perhaps you might not have enabled e-commerce tracking yet.

No problems to report in Analytics itself.

He sent me this link, which I'm passing along to you:

How do I track e-commerce transactions?

Now, back to "Google Analytics NEW versus OLD interface." I'd really love to hear comments from this forum, whether postive or not-so-positive. Otherwise, I may have to assume that a lack of comments means that just about everyone is completely happy with the new UI. ;)

Thanks AWA!

Sorry, for my last posting. I really didn't mean to de-rail. I must have started a new thread. :(

Thanks for the Information.

The New Analytics Interface is pretty Good with lot of New Features. The feature i like in the new interface is "Keywords Position". This is really good, where we can easily track the Revenue/CTR/Conversion rate etc.. of each keywords at different Ad position. :)

I definitely like the new interface. However there is something on the old interface that was very useful that seems to be missing. In the old interface, no matter what report or data I was looking at, I could click a little arrow to "View data over time".

In the new interface, it's impossible to see these graphs of data over time, as far as I can tell. For instance when I'm looking at the map overlay, there's no way to plot that data over time. I have to manually change my date range over and over again to get that data.

If AWA or AWA2 is listening please stop the old interface from being retired (or at least add missing features to the new one).

The new interface just doesn't cut it. It's too simplistic and does not give enough access to stats.

One thing that I just can't see in the new interface is Hour-by-Hour stats for the current day. Although the reporting is often a couple of hours behind (as you would expect given the volume of data) I still find that data of immense value.

Another example of problems is when exporting data, you can only export the data that's on screen. e.g. If I want to export the keywords that have been used to find the site (up to 50,000 different phrases a day) I used to be able to do it with ease in the old interface, the new one just exports the data in view (max 500 at a time). Surely I can't be the only one that finds this annoying.

I think they just added the hourly reports back again:

Well, I'm not certain that I wield quite that much influence, inbound. ;)

On the other hand, I will certainly pass along all feedback from this thread to the right folks - and the more specific it is the better. You may consider that to be a done-deal.

(And thanks for the link to the blog netmeg.)
