my Ad Groups have competing keywords

I'm using Adwords to promote my organization's support for various running events, so have various Ad Groups for 'Great North Run', 'Great South Run', 'London Marathon' etc. They are all specific ads directing to different URLs on my site.

Apart from the event name and variations of the event name, the same list of keywords applies to each Ad (running, UK running, etc). I'm trying to figure out which approach would work best - list the same 30 keywords for each Ad Group and let them compete with eachother, or combine into one Ad Group with the different events set as Ad Variations... but then only one gets served for each search...?

Hope this makes sense - any advice appreciated! Thanks

hi,

only one ad will show no matter how you group your kw's. Google does not allow the same advertiser to serve multiple ads for a search.

If i were you i would greate an adgroup for each specific event, with specific ads for that event, then have a more general adgroup for catching all the other terms.
