I would like a bit of advice-I have a strong feeling that my ROI is better from google search clicks than from the search network or content search. I wonder if anyone else has this view? Or disagrees?

Many folks feel the same way.

Many adjust bids down on content to balance ROI.

Does anyone think there is a problem with the search network?

many do, read through a few posts here by looking for "content" and "content network" in the title of threads in this area of WebmasterWorld.

Thanks guys, I should have searched for this thread first before posting. It seems to confirm my prejudice. I will have to reflect on how to proceed from here.

You can create separate campaigns for Content and Search, but I don't think you can separate the Search Network from the Search. So it's kind of a tossup - you have to decide if the traffic from places such as AOL and WebMD make up for the utter garbage of some of the other so called search partners.

I'm kind of curious if any of those search partners are getting the boot from AdSense on June 1, as well as the MFA / Arbitragers, because in some cases, you sure can't tell the difference.

I turned off search partner distribution several weeks ago for myself and for all my clients because click costs had gone up signficantly but conversions had not gone up at the same rate.

Would love to be able to run placement reports for search partners and have an exclusion tool so that I can choose not to show my ads on some of the partner search engines that I don't think count as true search engines...sorry Google, I don't think that just having a search box on their page qualifies any website that applies to be a search partner. (hint, hint!)

Some of the sites I manage do better on the content network than they do on Google itself. Even the MFA sites bring pretty good revenue.
