When issues like this occur, they typically occur for a very small percentage of all advertisers. In light of this an 'alert' message in all accounts (including those of the majority who are not experiencing the issue) might prove to be unnecessarily alarming - and not taken kindly.
With all due respect, AWA, I think it's a "small percentage of advertisers" who would be distressed by a simple courtesy notice that luckily didn't apply to them.
I think this situation could be ameliorated by some careful wording - all you'd have to say is "Some users may be experiencing difficulties with thus-and-so - please be aware our engineers are aware and working on the issue. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this issue as soon as possible"Just a simple statement like that could possibly save HOURS of otherwise wasted time.

Points well taken netmeg and poster_boy - and I'll add those comments to the conversation here on the subject.
...AWA, any updates on this?
I'll check in with the tech folks again, to see what I can learn. As always, I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused those of you who are experiencing difficulties. Having managed various types of online accounts, I'm very familiar with the frustration that arises when things are not operating as you expect them to.

AWA, this has reached emergency status. I'm still getting the error message - 48 hours after it first began. This is going on 3 business days of no access to my account. With the amount of money we spend on Adwords, this is unacceptable. Any word on when this will be resolved? We're heading into the weekend here and we really need to be able to review our account information!
This is a "known issue" that the engineers are "dillgently working on." There is no estimated time for it to be fixed.
Hi Mel66, jam2005, and others - first, I truly do regret the inconvenience you are experiencing - along with others who are affected by this issue.
That said, I do not have an update beyond what you already know - which is that this is a known issue, and it is being worked on as top priority. At present, I don't have an ETA for a resolution - but will post again as I know more.
Mel66, as you will already know from your thread in another forum (in which I will also post shortly with this same information) this issue is not affecting all advertisers. It truly is a small percentage who are affected - though I absolutely know that this is a very cold comfort if you are one of the 'small percentage' who is experiencing account access issues.
You all have my very sincere apology, and I assure you, this is being worked on as a highest priority.
AWA
This issue should now be fully resolved (as of some time ago, actually) - and I hope that the lack of recent posts serves as confirmation of this.
Anyone still having this same issue?
Again, my apology to those of you who had to live with this for a time. Not the ideal advertiser experience, I know.
