Is there really a good over-all CTR

As I look at our numbers on CTR I like what I see in some areas and not so much in others. So, we change the ads to improve the CTR.

But what is a REALLY good CTR? WE're in the leisure industry.

There's no easy answer to this.

We cover many business areas and see large variations from a couple of percent being good at an average position of 5ish to being disappointed with single digit CTR's at a similar position in other verticals.

Moving closer to the top of the adverts can make a big difference, but being 1, 2 or 3 takes you to a new level of CTR (when featured above the organic results).

If you pay enough, and hence also have very well targetted adverts, you should be able to get double digit CTR's if you are blueboxed (now yellowboxed) for most searches, 50%+ is possible ;o)
