I used 2 ad groups under one campaign. Each ad group had two distinctly seperate phrases. So in total, there were four phrases. At the bottom of my landing page I put the "conversion" tracking code which was provided by Google.
I thought I would be correct in presuming that the Reports I run using Google Reporting would show the clicks equalling the Convesions. As my report shows the number of clicks is roughly 8.2% higher than my conversions. Why might that be? Anyone. Anyone.
I have reported clicks of 550
I have reported coversions of 508
Var. 8.2% More Clicks than Conversions.
Now, again. These convesions are not sales conversion but is merely the code I was given to put on the conversion page by Google. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the discrepancy? :)
The conversion tracking code will not track users who have either cookies or JavaScript disabled, or both. This percentage looks pretty appropriate for that segment of users.
There could also be some discrepancy on counting unique visitors.
The tracking code uses cookies... "Google clicks" not (as far as I know). Anyway 8% is very close and for web stats comparison is quite good.
