Google Checkout Button Showing on Adwords

A big blue button is showing next to the ads of merchants who take Google Checkout for payment.

It disappeared for a while, but I guess it's back...

The icon has been there since the start

I think they have just made it more prominent and changed the design.

I haven't seen it too often though so wonder about how many people are using Google Checkout and if Johnny Surfer knows what it refers to.

I've done a number of searches since I first saw it, to see where it would turn up, and it isn't showing up on all searches. But it is appearing on very "seasonal" keyword phrases that would be very heavily trafficked for the time of year. Think: "June, moon, croon, honeymoon" - for sure there for seasonal searches, but not for widgets.
