We are running a travel related campaign in which the ads have prices. These prices are very dynamic and can change up to ten times per day. It is clearly very cumbersome to do this by hand.

Do you know of any applications that can handle automated ad editing? Maybe one that we can connect to our database where rates are handled and changed constantly.

Very grateful for any ideas, have a lovely day.

Susanne, I know this is not the answer to your question - but it is potentially important information:

Please be aware that every time you make an edit to your ad, it will need to be reviewed before it may run on the search or content networks. So, if you were changing your ads multiple times per day, they would more than likely never run on those networks at all.

AWA,

I can see that you are preparing the release of something called commerce ad (available in the adwords API sandbox).

Is this new type of ad going to help us do ads the way that Susanne described above? Would it allow us to change just the pricestring without triggering editorial reviews?

Cheers,

Peer Jakobsen

One of the nice benefits of the ability to be able to pause specific ads within an ad group is that you can enter in a bunch of different ads with different prices and then pause them all except for the current price. The ads don't have to be reviewed each time they're unpaused, so there's virtually no delay when switching between the ads.

This may or may not work for you, depending on exactly how your prices fluctuate. If they're always different, then it's not of much use; but if there are a set of specific prices that you would be advertising, then it's handy.
