Hi Folks

A newbie here to all this AdWords stuff - slowly getting my head around it - with grateful help from you folks.

I've been playing with the "Dynamic Keyword Insertion" feature - but I note that there is ZERO description of this feature on the Google AdWords site and help section (unless I'm missing something).

But I have grasped it thanks to this site.

Are there other important features that are also not documented on Google's site that I should know about?

I don't mean strategy, tips or tricks (although those are always great to know :-)) ), but undocumented features.

And as a side issue - why is a feature such as dynamic keywords not documented on the Google AdWords site?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey! welcome to webmaster world.

If a feature exists you'll likely find it here somewhere.

You may find that folks are unwilling to give you a truly useful undocumented feature.

In my case I can't figure out the documented features.

As for the keyword insertion: I think it was originally intended for premium publishers but they let us normal folks use it. Then again, I know nothing.

The keyword insertion feature is talked about on the site in a bunch of places. When in doubt just do a google search like this. You'll find it...

keyword insertion site:google.com

Sometimes it's more useful to know what you need, and then figure out if it exists - or how to make it happen through other means.

Items like bulk downloads, keyword insertion, valuetrack, negative embedded match, etc are out there. But not all of them are useful to everyone.

I think the curret top "undocumented" feature is paused campaigns still receiving and being charged for unauthorized traffic...

valuetrack allows you to dynamically insert parameters into the destination URL.

Idaho,

That explains why I've been paying between 50 cents and $2.00 for the last 6 months LOL. I was wondering what was going on. Thought my memory was failing and that I did some testing and just "forgot" about it. Turns out Google "forgot" to not charge me.

Wow.

I have found that there's a ton of stuff in the training materials for the Google Advertising Professional program that isn't in the regular help files. You might try going through some of that stuff, even if you have no intention of taking the test or going for GAP.
