Is there any way to track Search network traffic separately?

Haven't been using Search network, but I want to test it

I've only been advertising on Google search, and now that I have my ads and campaigns pretty well sorted I wanted to expand my reach and start testing their Search network.

But then I realized that I can't just setup a new campaign and advertise ONLY on the Search network, the way you can for the content network. Darn.

Are there any creative ways that I could somehow enable Search network traffic and track it separately?

Or do I basically just have to enable the Search network in all of my primary campaigns, let it run for a week, and then compare my stats/conversions for the week vs. the week prior when Search network wasn't enabled? I'm scared that this has the potential to ruin my CTRs, etc.

If you set up identical campaigns but with lower bids and tick both search and search network, then this will have the same effect as just doing search network, because google will take the higher bid for the identical (original campaign - which is google only). This works well for us.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if that would do it or not. Can it literally be 1 penny less or should it be 5 or 10 cents less just to be sure? Does the bidding and ranking work the same on the search network as it does on Google i.e. the system takes into account your CTR and bid, etc.

1 cent should be enough.

It wont hurt your Google KWs CTR. The only thing it may hurt is your account QS. It positively effected our campaigns if that helps.
