I tested it a few times using different methods a few years ago and never could get anything from it yet I see my competitors using it. Im wondering if they just don't know any better or are people actually getting good results?

Is there something I dont know?

I get a higher ROI on content then I do on search.

I don't have a direct selling site so I track clicks from the home page to pages that have selling information. I consistently get 5 to 10% better results at much lower cost from Content.

It can work in some industries and you can sometimes get a much lower CPA. But normally, I've found that there is just way too much fraud in the content network.

While I would agree that with Yahoo this is true I have not found this with AdWords. I use Google Analytics to track visitors to my sites and find that most of the Google CPC visitors stick on my sites.

It depends on the industry. I've been able to do very well with content network in a few areas. But anything that can get remotely competitive usually turns into a disaster.

I would agree that Google content match is much better. In fact I dont use Yahoo at all now after a few tests over the past 2 years. Google allows you to set the bids specifically for that system so we have things set much lower than the regular terms and have pretty good results. On some of the campaigns the roi is higher on content match.

So with us (software industry):
Google content match is good.
Yahoo content match sucks.
