How long does it take for budge update to take effect?

I upped my budget about an hour ago so my ads would show more frequently. However, it still has not updated. When I click on the little magnyfying glass mark it tells me the possible reasons my ad is not showing. These ads have been showing for months and have thousands of clicks and impressions.

How long does it typically take google to update the budget changes?

AFAIK it's immediate. However, there is a lag of up to three hours reporting stats for AdWords (see the small print on each page).
