Bored tonight.

Was looking at my google sitemaps account.

I always go to it by searching for google sitemap (or maps).

I was wondering why it comes up 1st in the serps.

the word sitemaps (or sitemap) does not appear on the page. They have about 200 internal links with sitemap/sitemaps. If it were that easy all my keywords would be #1.

On to Adwords.. I also notice that they have the #1 blue position for their adwords ad. 'Google Sitemaps'

How the f can they have the #1 blue spot when 'sitemaps' (or sitemap) doesn't appear on the page? Aren't they missing on of the key quality score things?

Are we playing by the same rules here? Not

And, they have a whopping 229 words on the page - too little content :)

And, they have images with no alt tags. Don't sight impaired folks use sitemaps?

Back to TV.
Ohhh crp. I can't login to my sitemaps account now :)

Did Google not return, in the first position, the precise page you were looking for?

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
