Because you probably bumped into the Quality Score, because the misspelling either isn't a real word, or it doesn't appear on your page, or some such.

What's the quality score?
Of course the misspelling is not a real word...
And of course it does not appear on my page... why? that makes difference?

Yep. There's lots of posts here about the quality score.

Well, if AdRank = Max CPC bid x Keyword Performance and your typos have a lower CTR than the 'real' word you'd end up paying more per click, all other things being equal.

yes but it's absurd!
for example:
the word firefox 40 cents
the word firefoxx 4 dollars
?

how that possible?

So is your landing page about firefox or firefoxx?

If your landing page doesn't relate to firefoxx then it would have a very poor QS for firefoxx, but possibly a good QS for firefox.

so the fact that my page is not about firefoxx makes me paying 4 euros for a click?

Right. That's QUALITY score. Your landing page is supposed to be relevant to what your ad is about, among other things.

If it help - google does say that it will show you ad on misspellings of the keywords you buy.

...provided you're using broad match for the keywords, right?

Also, if your keyword is a closer match, presumably it should outperform broad matches on typos, all other things being equal.
