Same old story. Last week I submitted some new ads. The keywords (in the same adgroup) run in the premium spot. This means that there's no impressions until the ads are reviewed and approved.

Today I saw that the ads had no impressions yet. I mailed Adwords support. And they approved them right away. After 7 working days!

This happens to me all the time. Adwords review process is bad! Reviewers forget ads. It takes forever. There's no sure way to see if an ad is reviewed or not reviewed.

The ad review process is my most wanted improvement for Adwords 2007.

I thought many had these problems. But maybe my problem could be quite specific:
I have many adgroups with ads that run in the premium spots. At the same time, I'm competing with affiliates that advertise with the same display url. As you know, only the highest ranking ad per display url will show for a query.

To make this problem concrete, consider this scenario:
1. I and a competitor advertise for the same keyword. I've got a higher rank, and my ad is shown in the premium spots.
2. One day, I create a new ad.
3. My new ad combined with the keyword still has a higher rank than the competitor's.
4. My ad can't show in premium, since it's not reviewed. But my competitor's ad can.
5. So the competitor's ad will show, despite my higher rank. Until my ad is approved, and the correct order is restored.

If I create a new ad in such an adgroup, it won't get one single impression until it's reviewed.
So far it's the way it work for a fact. Now for the theory part:

Since the new ad don't get impressions, it won't get reviewed!? At least, it is placed in the last place of the "ad review queue", and frequently forgotten!
