Impressions way up and CTR down since 12/1

a result of myspace traffic?

I have campaigns running on google and have had a solid CTR for over year.

However, as of 12/1, the following has happened:

- Impressions WAY UP
- CTR has plunged

I am in an industry that is MySpace friendly (search terms could be popular among teens, etc.) - Didn't Google start providing search results to MySpace on 12/1?

Anyone else notice this trend?

Yes that is indeed the reason. Hopefully your site converts for that type of traffic!

ddogg,

Thanks for your reply, my question would be this:

Will the lower CTR MySpace traffic hurt my campaigns quality score? Or is only the CTR on Google Search taken into account?

Thanks,

Yeah, we've seen impressions go up, although CTR hasn't suffered much. ROI is a bit down, but the extra traffic is definitely welcome.

Also, I don't believe you will have any negative QS effects. Pretty sure all that stuff is derived from G traffic only.

I would exclude the myspace site on that campaign and set up another own just for myspace...

surf4soul,

I believe MySpace is a search partner, not a content partner, so I can't specifically exclude a search partner can I?

I thought my options were to exclude content sites, also could opt out of the search network and set the campaign up on Google Search only - but that still doesn't separate out the specific traffic.

Or am I wrong and a single search partner can be excluded in a campaign?

Thanks for your input!
