Conversion Code -- too prominent

"Google Site Stats" on my "Thank you for your order" page?

I've heard you can make the "Google Site Stats - leave feedback" text 'invisible' by making the text transparent.

This text shows up right on my Thanks for your Order page...not a great way to say thank you by putting Google's name right in their face.

How can I avoid this?

I know Google likes to brand everything, but that seems like a horrible thing to brand. In their quest to create a higher level of quality experience, they might look at not branding stuff that should be invisible to a visitor.

If you sign up for Google analytics, you can implement 'goals' -- giving you access to similar data without the logo. It doesn't show up well in the acutal adwords interface but an option nonetheless.

i think making it transparent / invisible violates the TOS... decide whether displaying it is worth the return in tracking stats or not, but don't try to hide it - it ain't worth the risk.

consumers spend very little time on the thank you page, they're done. i don't worry about it where i use it and have never had any consumer complaints or questions about it.

I guess I just wish I could disguise it somehow...it's impossible to miss when placing an order. whether they came from google or not...

Well it should only show when someone has clicked on a Google or Google partner link.

I like to place it near the top left hand corner so it fits very snug in the top left hand corner. White background just black text. It is usally a thank you page so most people do not notice it especially if the 'thank you' text is large.

Also, if it is at the bottom I worry that some people may not load it. My conversions went up when I just changed the placement to the top. It was a very small number, but a noticable change nonetheless.

I would not worry about the tracking code too much. What bugs users the most is SLOW loading pages, and confusing pages.

No, it always shows.

I think people are actually getting used to seeing it. I know I see it all over the place when I'm buying stuff online.

the G code snippet you've embedded on your receipt page reads info from the buyers google cookie so it can identify which G ad they clicked on before, to tie it to the sale that just completed. while i do think "it" displays always, you might try deleting your g tracking cookies before doing a test purchase and see if it still shows...
