< admin note: this thread was moved here from the adsense forum >

Hi there,

My first post in adsense. Basically, we've never had the need to run adsense.. however recently I was surfing and saw a competitor using our exact company name as a title in adsense.

I'm going to contact them, however I was wondering if it's possible to get reports on what types of adsense people are running or no?

All the best,

-russell

I guess you are confusing adsense and adwords ....
that's more of an adwords question

Hmm i need to clarify. Where I saw this ad was in adsense.. it was on a private website. Now I'm curious, I know that you can host adsense but the adds the system uses come from adwords?

yes, the ads for AdSense come from AdWords

if you have a copyright on the name then just contact Google

You can do a "WHOIS" look up and find out who registered the domain name.

You should click on the "ads by google" link and send some feedback with the "Send Google your thoughts on the ads you just saw" link selecting the "appropriateness of ads" menu. I doubt adwords advertisers are allowed to use copyrighted company names.

Company/product/trade names cannot and are not protected by copyright. They can be protected by trademarks or service marks.
