Ad not shown - because of Higher Ranking Ad

I Have a question

Let's say my key word is :Widgets

And I have two Ads with two different display URLs:

1) www.abc.com
2) www.xyz.com

If Ad 1, (abc.com), is being out ranked by another Ad (with the same display URL), should my 2nd Ad (xyz.com) still show?

If the URL is being promoted by others also (direct linking) and their quality score and or bid on the keyword terms is higher it can be very difficult. Your best to have a unique URL and avoid these problems.

I claim a bit of ignorance on this, but I thought regardless of display urls that only one ad could show per keyword regardless, and that they highest ranking one would show.

If that is a url shared with others, then it would not show at all.

I am sure someone who actually knows will correct me, but that is how I thought it worked.

If both of the ads are in the same account, then only one will show for any given keyword, irrespective of the URL.
