Splitting out Content Bids

Can anyone tell me if I separate my bidding for the content network, will it affect my QS on Search? I have always had my bids set the same for content and search, and have been relectant to separate them, however, I would like to reduce my content bids - but if it has an adverse affect on my Search QS I will leave well alone. Any advice - my account is massive, so am loath to have to wait for everything to "kick back in" if I change this.

Thanks for the reply Rhino. However, my question is not about the merits of separating content/search bids - I already do this. My question is, if you have a large campaign - that already has a well established track-record, QS etc, will changing the settings at the campaign level - ie changing show ads at same price for content and search, to separating bids in content/search have any impact on my QS and history. As if it effects either, I would rather leave it alone than risk losing all the history in this particular campaign. :)

I doubt it would have any impact. They are treated entirely separately as far as I have been able to tell.

I have split them out and adjusted content separately after starting a campaign and I never noticed a problem.
