When I mean conversion my classification of this is a user who completes a order via basket to the complete/thank you page.
Analytics is going to offer you a more comprehensive set of stats about your visitors, but does require a bit more front end work to set up to track all of your advertising campaigns. The Analytics help center should be able to help you through the set up process.
