Hi, Soz for double post, I felt I should elaborate a little, if you have the keyword WiDget in your account and also the keyword widget, G would treat them both the same.

if you have them in different ad groups with ad performance serving off they traffic will be divided between them, if you have performance on or in the same ad group both will serve until on out performs the other.

If you have different cased keywords in your account, both may run (if at the same price, they'll likely split traffic), but - for all intents and purposes - they multiple instances of the same keyword.
