I guess I'm missing this but how exactly under Ad Variations do you disable an ad so the status shows something other than Active without deleting the ad?

It's a feature that certainly makes sense, but it is not possible to "pause" an ad.

Yea, I've been asking and asking - it would be REALLY nice to have in time for the holidays (hint hint) since I'm going to be doing holiday specific ads over the next couple months, and then turning them off at the beginning of the year, and will want to run them again at the next holiday or even a year from now.

So it looks like I did not miss this when looking through AdWords. Seems a fairly easy to build value-added feature.
