Ok, so my #1 keyword that my company shoots for is in one of my AdGroups.

i have a Max. CPC of $3.00.

i received 7 hits out of 1989 Imp. = 0.35% CTR.

CPC is tallied as $2.62, with a avg. position of 14.9

When this keyword is directly typed into google search box, we show SERP of #4....my site is SEO'd pretty good ....so should i just dump that keyworkd in my Adgroups and not even worry about it since organically we rank #4?

are you not tempted to bid $1 higher and try to get your ad onto page 1? I would be. Even if your fourth in the serps you've got another 20 or so competitors on the same page.

This is actually very low, as I suspect you are aware - and it suggests that the targeting between the keyword and the ad that appears for that keyword is lacking.

Before killing the keyword, I'd suggest giving that keyword it's own Ad Groups (perhaps along with other very highly related variations of the keyword, if applicable) and then giving that Ad Group a brilliantly written and compelling ad about exactly the same thing. Then, lastly, send the user to an excellent page on your site that is extremely pertinent to the thing that the user searched for in the first place (which, of course, is also exactly what the ad is about.)

That should raise your CTR, which can lower the actual CPC that you pay. And the careful targeting will also get you a much more 'qualified' customer - as you are showing them first an ad, and then a page on your site, about precisely what they were searching for.

My $0.02. ;)
