Anyone else get this from that new little icon next to the keywords:

"This keyword isn't showing ads.
Your ad is showing on a higher position than the requested page allows."

Does this mean that my keyword is too good? :)

I've not noticed it, but it sounds as though it is intented to relate to "position preference bidding" - I don't use this - do you?

As I understand it, you bit whatever is necessary to achieve position x - not higher. If you are always ranking higher than this (e.g. good Quality Score) then your bit will not show.

Try removing the position preference if set - if not, ask G.

I don't do any position preference or any other optimization (bid, etc).

The thing that drives me nuts with all this is the lack of information, still! Now that we can see the REAL status of keywords we can see how awful (evil) the adwords system has become.

I have 200 keywords that are all 'active' and now I see that only 20 are really 'active' even though all of them get impressions occasionally.

If i could see this situation on the screen easily then I'd up the bids or adjust ad text or something.

To say a keyword is 'active' and then have a little popup that says it really isn't active because the bid does not meet the minimum requirments is absolutely absurd. IF I CAN SEE THAT MY BID IS TOO LOW THEN I'D AT LEAST HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE IT.

Adwords is evil

Sorry for shouting.

I have a few keywords with that message, when i click on the "what can i do" link i get the following message:
(Reason: Unknown.

What does this mean?
Your ad is not being shown for reasons unknown to the Ads Diagnostic Tool.

What can I do?
Our engineers have been notified of this problem with the Ads Diagnostic Tool and we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.)

When I check the keyword in search the ad is showing. It seems like a glitch in the system, not surprising as it is new.

Whenever I get this message -

"This keyword isn't showing ads. Your ad is showing on a higher position than the requested page allows."

what it actually meant was that it is not showing in the first page of the search.

but they have a message for when it isn't showing on the 1st page of results... so why use two different message for the same thing when one makes no sense.
