This was just released in the past few weeks.

It has quite a few improvements over the previous version - worth checking into if you make a lot of changes to your account.

eWhisper - thanks.

I do plan on making changes to my account. I never did much becuase it was so painful. This tool looks like it will make it easy.

One question:

If I basically RE-DO my campaigns (pause/delete all teh current ones, and create completely new ones, with the same keywords just in a new structure, new creatives, etc)

Will I get hit by smart pricing?

I didnt know if completely redoing an account will trigger anything. I'm trying to take a step forward, not 2 steps back!

Smart pricing "hits" you on the AdSense side. In theory, it's supposed to help you on the AdWords side.

Maybe you mean quality score?

Thanks NetMeg.

Can you be hit by 'quality score' simply by revamping your adwords account?

Same website, same keywords. Just different campaigns/adgroups/creatives.

Like I said, I dont want to be making account-wide changes to get better ROI then get completely slammed and be worse off before (with all that preparation time wasted).

From what i understand, quality score isn't hurt by rearranging your account--it's tied somehow to the keyword and account, not its location in your account structure.

And even when you make totally new keywords, quality score carries over to it because it's part of your account as an advertiser. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that you can build up some serious credibility as an advertiser, which affects the ranking of all your keywords, not just the ones performing the best.

Blake - interesting. I've been with Gadwords since the beginning. Still use taht account, same keywords and everything. maybe I dont need to worry about the reconstruction?

I'd be interested to hear how true your statement really is. I've never heard that before...

Hubie,

Don't mess too much with your account. Click history is very important, it helps you pay less than your competitors with a poorer history. You don't want to throw away your history.

If you are getting a good return then I'd put up with the inconvenience of having an account that is not optimally organised.

We have created a few accounts on similar terms over the years (for different clients in the same sector), each time we start a new campaign it seems more difficult to get to a good position (unless you have a nice budget to kick-start it). Re-arranging an account is often very similar to starting again!
