More Adwords questions

Specifically directly linking to your Merchant

I have a very small site set up for a single purpose, linking to my affiliate merchant. I then use Adwords to pay for traffic to my site.

What if I created an Adwords campaign skipping my site completely? Use the same keywords, but just use their site . The Merchant site is probably set up better anyway. Can you get your affiliate code in your target link? I would think either Google or your affiliate merchant would probably have a problem with this.

My other question has to do with starting another campaign, targetting the same keywords, just to a different merchant, but same product. Or is it just plain stupid to compete against my profitable merchant and myself? Or should I be tapping a profitable product line.

Thanks

Google permits you to link directly to merchants and most merchants allow it as well although you should check to make sure. The only problem is Google only shows one ad per domain so you may then be competing against many others. As far as creating a different campaign with the same keywords only one ad per account will show for a particular keyword so it will not work.
