Re-activating a keyword in an old campaign

Over a year since it last ran, will it retain it's ad history?

I have an adgroup in a campaign over a year old...Will these words retain their history based on CTR?

Yes it does or this has been my experience. If you switch the campaign you can wipe the slate clean.

and if i dont want to "wipe the slate clean" and but rather exploit ads that performed great a year ago...just un-delete them?

I'm intrigued. If your ads perfromed well a year ago, why did you pause them?

Yes just unpause them.

Edit - Disclaimer this is Google we are talking about. they are likely to have change something and of course would not bothered to tell anyone. Trial and error. Flying blind. These sorts of things come to mind.

what if they're "deleted" not "paused". They are still in my account, right?

what's the point of pausing then? or i guess what's the point of deleting? aren't they in reality the same?

Good question - what is the difference?
