Or is everything forced to exact match -
outside of google.com

so do you need to list every exact phrase match do appear on adsense publisher sites and partners like aol?

Just a quick answer, howiejs, before I head out for the evening. ;)

Ads placed on the content network are not placed there on a keyword-by-keyword basis. Rather, the system takes an overview of all of the keywords in the Ad Group, regardless of match type. Then the ad is placed on a page the content of which is aligned with the topic of the Ad Group, based on the overview of the keywords.

Hope that helps.

thanks for the reply AWA

So does that mean you should "theme" your ad groups --
if you have 10 widget florida keywords in the group -- and then a few non-widget keywords - should you split the groups so the content network ad pull is better "themed"?

AWA,

I know this has been asked before, but I was wondering if there was any update on whether or not an advertiser will, in the future, be able to:

1) see where content ads might be displayed based upon current information
2) block certain sites from displaying their ads

Those would both make content advertising far more appealing to me.

Well, this is question that I missed until now. Sorry about that.

I don't really have any new information to report on your questions, mquarles, although I will certainly pass your feedback on as a 'vote' to include such features.

I am preparing my feedback report right now, in fact. Just stopped by to see if there was feedback I should include!

Howiejs, IMO, this is one of the most important things you can do as an AdWords advertiser interested in excellent results, regardless of whether your ads are showing on Google, Search partners, or Content partners.

Having Ad Groups in which all of the keywords are about a particular product or service, and which bring up an ad carefully written to highlight that same product or service, will usually net you a higher CTR - and (more importantly) a prequalified customer.

Then if you send that prequalified customer to the right page on your site, the one that is most pertinent to the keyword and ad, then you may have an actual customer on your hands.

Just my $0.02. Can you tell I feel sort of strongly about this? ;)
