Read the book, or try it myself?

Should i spend my money on this book, or take my chances trying to work my Adwords account on my own?

I have a very good understanding of our industry KW's and rank pretty darn good for our major KW...

but im new at this sector of Adwords and am looking for some advice?

Is there a site that can help with the bidding, and strategies of this beast, or should i get a book and learn from it?

thanks everyone

tony

Go through all the help docs on the AdWords site - and if you have the time for it, go through the (free) training for the Google Advertising Professional too. Even if you don't intend to take the test or become one - I found a lot more information there than I did in the regular help docs when I was getting ready to take the test (although that was two years ago - the help docs might be improved by now too) From that you should get enough of an idea to get started without buying extra books.

Assuming you mean the e-book, I have it, and found it useful.

It's better at getting the concepts across than the Google documentation. And, (at least at the time that I bought it) it is up-to-date, which none of the few traditionally-published books on the subject are. (Nor could they possibly be.)

The docs at Google are (at best) an introduction to using GAW. GAW is very complex. You need about six months of solid experience at managing several accts to began to understand how it works.

Buy a few good books. Go to Amazon.com and find books on PPC.
