Broad Match Plurals

Does broad matching cover plurals?

Hi,

I have a simple question, does broad matching cover plurals or would I need to add separate keywords? E.g. Red widget & red widgets.

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, can anyone confirm that stemming only kicks in with broad match keywords once 1000 impressions have been served? I'm sure I read that somewhere reliable, but can't find the reference now.

Have never heard of that.

I have heard that if you dont want to your broad match keywords to be "extended broad matching" you can add them as phrase, that is if they are singel word keywords.

E.G. if you want to appear for widegt on broad but not widgets add they keyword as "widget", this has never been confirmed by a Googleite but given how the matching rules work, am an confident it will work.

Hey thanks Kings on steeds. I had not even thought of this but it seems to make sense.

Well google does say that your ad will show up for plurals if you keyword is in broad match. What I have been noticed a couple of times though is that if i have 'red white widget' as my keyword (broad match) and I search for 'red white widget', my ad shows. If I look for 'best red white widget' my ad shows. If I look for 'red white widget in xyz', my ad shows but if I look for 'red white best widget' my ad will not show. My ad will not show even if I search for 'widget white red' Basically if words are added before and after, my ads show up most often than not but if something is added in the middle or if the order of keywords has been changed. Anyone noticed anything similar?

Also have never heard of the 1000 impressions served bit.
