Do you have different max cpc for each keyword?

Hi,

I am just wondering if people think it is a good idea to have different max cpc for each keyword in an ad group? I am asking because some ads show high and some really low. I realise this may take a while so I wanted to know if anyone had any advice before I start.

Thanks

Tahir

Not necessarily every kword. Consider every kword an individual auction, each with a different price. Experiment with bid price until you reach the position you want your ad to be.

Remember to keep an eye on CTR. High CTR will help you achieve your desired position at a cheaper price.
Try and group similar kwords into concise adgroups with well targetted adcopy. Split test your adcopy - run two to three ads at a time. In campaign settings set ads to rotate equally. This way you can compare adcopy, deleting poorer performing ads and improving upon the best.

Good sound advice from chief. I tend to set the same price for entire edgroup initially. After about a month I look at the figures and then adjust accordingly. If I have a keyword that is not appearing where I would like I increase the bid on that word.

When you get the urge to adjust bids, work on CTR instead.

Bid relatively low for positive ROI.
Earn better positions and more traffic by focusing on CTR.

Absolutely 100% we use different CPC per keyword, wouldn't have it any other way. It's a good way to get pin point precision with your ROI, you learn some pretty interesting things doing that.

thanks for the advice everyone. I guess this is something I have to work on for a while and experiment. I have ignored CTR and I will look into that a lot more now.
