I submitted an adgroup several months ago. Foolish me had inputted the destination url incorrectly, hence no page displayed. This has been running and getting clicks - all be it not many - for a number of months (I know I should have noticed sooner, but managing so many pages it slipped through the net). Today I receive email notification of disapproved ad. On investigation I realise my typing error. However when I looked at this Adgroup approx half the keywords are running, the other half are inactive and require a small increase to activiate. How could Google possibly have produced a QS on this page as they had no page to look at? Bodes the question what is this QS all about and do they really look at the landing page. Interested in your comments guys.

Maybe some of the QS is dependent on the site as a whole, but I agree it doesn't seem to make much sense.

I though that the landing page URL was checked live when you set up the Ad.

Me too. I normally check them myself as soon as I load them - this one must have slipped through the net. Does bode the question as to how Google can determine what you pay for a click based on page quality though.
