Should I accept offer of Affiliate Link?

Could this affect keyword performance?

I have been running my general information publishing site for about 3 months. Traffic is largely from AdWords and has grown to about 500 to 1000 visitors a day.
Income to date is from AdSense - it covers the costs, but does not yet provide me with a decent hourly wage!

I've received an invite to sign up as an Affiliate - the Site concerned looks professional and fits well with a few of my pages and target geography. Should I try it out?

If read a few threads that seem to suggest inclusion of affiliate links tends to result in Keyword prices needing to be increased significantly - what's the general view on this?

Thanks for any help.

Perhaps you also need to post this in the Adsense forum to see whether Adsense frowns upon Affiliate links as well Pengi!:)

Plenty of high quality sites use affiliate links - they're a great way of monetizing a site. I'd only worry if you were running an MFA/thin affiliate site; if you're running an established site with quality content etc, I shouldn't worry.

If you're feeling nervous, simply mask the affiliate links with PHP (see this thread [webmasterworld.com]).
