Hello to all,

Since Tuesday my ads suddenly stopped on google sponsored search results.
Campaign and keywords are shown as 'active' but since Tuesday shows zero impressions.
I checked in the diagnostic tool and it says that the keywords (that are apparently active)
"do not trigger my ads".
What do I do?

For info:
-I have emailed google but no response as of yet.
-I have no banned keywords e.g. gambling or gun type words etc.
-This is my first and only Adwords account (i.e. i don't have multiple accounts).
-Before Tuesday I was getting thousands of impressions and a good click rate.
-Ads are targeted at Europe (especially UK and Benelux)

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

I glad to say the ads have now suddenly strated to appear again.
Having read through this forum google adwords does seem to be in an unfathomable world of it's own though.

I am having the same problem. Emailed Adwords and got a useless reply. Emailed again and they replied: "The reason why you are experiencing difficulty viewing your ad is because
of a recent technical change made to our system. I have explained this
matter in depth below.

We've recently made a change to our ad serving systems that has resulted
in a drop in impressions for a small number of advertisers. This is is a
side-effect of the intended change, and we're planning to introduce some
additional changes in the next two weeks that should alleviate this. In
the meantime, the best way to increase your impressions is to raise your
position. As always, this may be accomplished through optimization or
increasing your maximum CPC."

Pretty useless response, as I am already bidding a reasonable amount on each keyword, all keywords within the whole account are active etc etc. Seems there is another bug in their system.:)

"side-effect of the intended change" does this mean a "bug"?
Surely not.

Would I imply that Adwords has bugs in its system - not me....:)

And another thing. If a doctor prescribed drugs with a side affect, which I reported I would expect a different prescription and/or compensation for the damage caused by the side effect. Don't imagine I will get either - although the mini-fridge might cheer me up a bit!

I have been experiencing this -- keywords / impressions dead on several of my ad groups with lower than 50 cent keywords.
And, when checking the diagnostic tool get the message that there are no adgroups with the keyword(s)

What I do when I notice this is either turn the campaign off -- the campaign, not the ad group, for a day or so. Or,

I'll sit there and click the campaign on to pause, then on to resume, then on to pause -- several times. Sometimes this kicks the adgroups back into to gear, sometimes not.

Turning the whole campaign off for at least 24 hours, better at 36-48 hours, works better though.

It is really frustrating -- yet when I resume the campaign after it's "rest" , My keywords come alive at really good positions and CTR's.

BTW, I was advised to do this by Adwords Support a couple of years ago BEFORE all these "changes" -- And, it still seems to work.

I "think" the reason for the disappearence of the ads was that I had edited some ads and in the reply google sent me (after the problem was resolved) amongst other things they state:

"- Approval status

Your ad may not be showing if it is awaiting review. Ads and keywords
sometimes require review and approval before they can run. AdWords
Specialists will review ads and keywords in the order in which they are submitted. Please be assured that all ads or keywords will be reviewed shortly and - if approved - will begin running.

If an ad does not meet our advertising guidelines and policies, we will prevent your ad from running. If this happens, you will be notified by email and you will see the word 'Disapproved' listed below that ad on your Ad Group Details page.

The email will suggest changes that should be made to your ad so that it can run again. Once you have made the appropriate edits, simply save your changes to automatically resubmit your ad for review...

...Please be aware that new and edited ads must be reviewed and approved before they are allowed to run on the Google Network. Additionally, remember that some ads may not run immediately on Google as they require review before being displayed".

I once had to alter an ad before it would run because I made a typo and left out a space between two words. Which I think is a fair enough requirement. The problem for me is that when these things happen there is no explanation on the google adwords site. It all looks fine but no ads appearing!

I know it's been said before, but wouldn't it be useful to have a clear statment from G on the review status of Ads, Keywords etc.
I'm sure it would safe a lot of work trying to find out why things aren't working properly when its' really down to the ad not having been reviewed.

And another thing. If a doctor prescribed drugs with a side affect, which I reported I would expect a different prescription and/or compensation for the damage caused by the side effect.

Not to fly it off topic too much, but you would expect compensation from a Doctor for prescribing you a drug with a side-effect? I understand what you are saying, but not sure it was the best analogy. :)
