I signed a client up last Sunday and I'm just wondering how long an AdWords account activation typically takes?

Considering I have had about 4 emails back and forward with Google about the referral (it only shows in the stats after they have spend $100) I find it interesting Google Australia have not activated the account.

Are Google Australia too busy for new AdWords business?

I find it interesting Google Australia have not activated the account.

Ordinarily AdWords folks do not 'activate' an account. It is created by the advertiser and goes live on Google.com rather quickly. Then, once reviewed and approved it may also be sent to partner sites.

An exception to this is Ad Groups that have keywords which are related to a 'sensitive' subject. These ads will require approval before running at all, even on Google.com

It sounds as if this may be what is happening here (although it is next-to-impossible say for sure without more detail or a look at the account.)

BTW, be sure a credit card has been entered for the account, and has been accepted by the system. Without this, ads will not run.

In any case, I'd suggest contacting AdWords support and asking them to take a look.
