Recently I started a new campaign with Adword on a new site of mine.
I installed a tracking program on my server then raised the bids to start getting some traffic.

Next day, Adwords reports 33 clicks and my tracking program none, zero, nada. Wahooo, what the .... is going on?

Doubting the tracking, I downloaded the raw logs, same.
After contacting Google with the usual non result, I looked everywere including this site that had a year 2002 thread with the same unsolved problem, no luck.

The answer in my case was that my index page is a .shtml as in:
http://www.example.com/index.shtml

I entered the above line into the "Destination URL" of the Adword campaign and now I get 1 visit for each click :)

This may be only one answer to different problems on the same subject. It may solve your problem or give you a hint considering the dumbness of some parts of the Google code.

Because the conclusion is scary at best: The top search engine that is cornering most of the Internet market uses crappy code. But that's another chapter lol
