Adwords not converting.

I've been seeing a drastic decline in conversion rate for my Adword ads so much so that it has become a losing business.

Bid low and there are so few clicks. Bid high you get more clicks but few sales resulting in a loss.

Not sure if this is Adwords' fault but if it continues, I'll be out of Adwords.

How long can I keep on bleeding?

Seeing the same thing.

Same campaigns, same ads and keywords. Lower conversions across the board, even when I limit the content network. I think it's the search network maybe? The "search" sites that already have a search done for visitors when they get to the page. (via ppc no doubt)

I created an identical campaign on yahoo for comparison and I can't believe it -- Yahoo's conversions are more than double Google's. (*for my particular market/site).

What could be the reason for this? Is it better free search results or what?

I too noticed Yahoo brings better conversion for certain keywords. But since they lost MSN, I was a bit wary.

Now with G not converting, its time for a rethink.

Thanks!

I've seen a pretty big surge in clicks this month on relatively low volume keywords. My ad positions have not increased and they are not season terms so there is no real reason to see such a spike in clicks.
Makes no sense, but yes conversions are down this month while clicks are up.

In March I made over $1200 on one product and in August to date I have made nil: not one solitary conversion for exactly the same budget. I have switched off for a while till I find out the reason.

Having read the threads I think i will try Yahoo for a week or two and compare the two for the same ad and same budget.

Yea, I never could get adwords to payout. I have basicly given up on it. Though, this past week I read the Google/SEO section on [http://mattcutts.com/blog/review-winning-results-with-google-adwords/]Matt Cutts blog from start to finish. There is lots of good stuff in there. One of the things he recommended was the book "Winning Results with Google AdWords". I am thinking of getting it. I'm hoping it will give me a more methodical way of approaching adwords. Have y'all read it?

Hi WebEqualizer

Yeah, it's not the easiest game in the world in fact it's getting increasingly harder, but once you find something that converts well, you can usually ride it for a long time. It's a great feeling coming home from a surf, a game of golf or whatever, checking your stats and realising you made a days wages+ off of some campaign you set up twelve months a go.

My advice mate is persist. Good Luck:)

googlemaps could be a source of your "Bad traffic" - better go to exact match til you figure it out...
