i was wondering if it possible to advertise the same pages on search and content at the same time.

However, I bid pretty high on search and would not like to try content network with that high bids.

Can I just set up another campaign with the same keywords and lower bids or will it not go active?

See if you can duplicate the campaign (tools) or adgroups into the new campaign and then just turn search off. Then turn content off in the original and run them independent.

Start your bids at 20% of your search bid on content.

Why run duplicate campaigns when you can set separate pricing for content and search within a single campaign?

thanks a lot for that!

I just found out how do it. just tick the content network option and then allow content bids. adwords will ask you to edit bids for content immediately.

thanks again!

Because you can control the geo-targeting and daytiming separately.

I can run my search US/Canada 6am-3pm

I can run my content US/Canada, EU & AU/NZ 4am to 9pm or whatever.

Just an example.
