Quick question. Hopefully some of you folks who use adwords more than I, can help answer this.

If I select a term "abc xyz" will it also broadmatch for "abc-xyz" and "abcxyz"? Or do I need three terms?

shri, I am about 95% certain that for your two examples it would work like this:

* If you have abc xyz in your keyword list, and I search abc-xyz, then your ad will appear. This is because the dash is ignored and treated like a space. Thus, it is really the same word.

* If you have abc xyz in your keyword list, and I search abcxyz, then your ad will not appear. This is because the system will see abc xyz as a two word phrase, and abcxyz as a single (and entirely different) word.

I'd have to test this in my own account to be 100% certain, and I am a bit pushed for time at this moment.

But do be aware that when you have questions like this you can literally test it out in one of your own Ad Groups, and find out exactly what will happen with the precise keywords you are concerned about. It's kind of fun to do, too!

NOTE: I would make sure that your campaign budget is set high enough for your ad to show all the time, though, or your results wont be reliable.

AWA, thanks for the explanation, was what I suspected.

Was avoiding doing it as someone claims that "abcxyz" is a trademark and I'm err .. not in the US. :)
