I'm not a great one for tidying and decorating. My bedroom curtains don't quite meet in the middle so they are held together with a safety pin near the top. The light leaking over that still bothers me - so a few weeks ago I threw a cushion cover up there where it wedged and blocked more light.
I never noticed till the night in question, but that cover is now the shape of a cows head with twisted horns, or a short eared rabbit's head with two squares of light leaking over the top of each 'ear'.
The way the curtains meet makes a darker vertical line, down until it reaches my sunglasses stand - a huge great rectangular thing blocking more light.
In outline it all looks like a gigantic rabbit with a metal pole for a neck. But I never realised that until the night I went to sleep with Google on my mind.
I woke up slightly just as dawn was creeping in and in my befuddled state I could see this robotic metal rabbit with glowing lights on its ears! I knew this was the Adbot coming to get me!
I must have spent an hour not quite awake and not quite asleep. I was terrified at first, but when it didn't come any closer my courage grew - and I started arguing with it about why it was looming there. Eventually I told it where it could stick its carrots and turned my back.
I think I need a vacation.
The Adbot is more Donnie Darko than Harvey, unfortunately.
