GOOG Shares Down 5% since AdWords Carnage

How low can they go?

I know that Google shares are volatile but I find it less than coincidental that they have dropped a huge 5% in the past week (is it only that long?).

Let's hope that a journalist picks up on the drop and the upset advertisers, puts the two together and gets this a little coverage.

For the record, I agree with the reasoning behind the recent changes (getting rid of MFA's) but it's been so badly handled that I think Google should scrap this 'enhancement' and try again.

The whole market is down around 5% so GOOG stock is just going with the market. There hasn't been any news at an investor level that anyone would care about.

Just goes to show that I don't watch the markets (at all) and should have done a little research before thinking it was of any significance.

earnings report due very soon. in light of the information i've seen here, and feedback from friends who use a ton of adwords (i don't, i rely on organic results) i've bought a big block of dec 340 puts on google.

it just doesn't make any sense. google is comprised of (i assume) a block of very bright people. the way they are treating advertisers that spend 100k to 1m annually is beyond insane. i'm all for giving the mfa's a deserved smackdown, but the collateral damage seems to be fairly fierce.

back to lurking.
