Befor this update I was averaging 3000 visits per day. Yesterday I was only able to get 500. Net loss = 2,500 per day. So far.

Can I ask a few questions?

- what type of site was it?
- what types of bids were you making (approx)?
- what 'general' keyword space was it?

I ask, because there is a private growing backlash. Somes guys I really trust - that do hundreds of thousands of keywords a month, can not detect a single solitary difference. So running into someone like you is worth tracking down here and seeing if we can identify what is going on.

For campaigns going to mostly large corporate sites through a variety of types of links (CJ, AdServer redirects, straight links) we have not noticed any negative difference. It does seem that there has been some effect though. Some campaigns are getting more traffic than ever, there has been no increase in the minimum CPC & I've had to lower CPCs because the conversion rate is dropping as traffic and rankings go up.

Industries include personals, real estate, marketing, womens clothing, mens & womens shoes, home improvement.

The campaigns use static ads as well as dynamic keyword insertion, the keyword purchased almost always appears in the ad and on the landing pages. CPCs range from $.04 to about $2.00 and the minimum CPC is rarely above $0.20 and usually around $.03.

That's not to say they haven't been hit before with things like the on hold, in trial, live, etc.. status that caused so many headaches a while back.

Brett,

It is a site that offers one specific industry related information for sale via subscription. Although I tried very hard to increase the traffic because of a more than acceptable conversion rate I was only able to reach 4-5 thousand visitors clicks per day but averaged close to 3000. I had heard a little about the quality landing page but wasn't concerned because I was getting a decent conversion ration and felt the quality must be fine. Then, this past Wednesday I noticed that I was only going to get about 1/3 of the typical days traffic so I logged into my account and wow, 90% of my keywords had been disabled and were requesting 5 & $10 per click. I have been campled out on webmasterworld the past several days trying to understand the whole quality landing page issue. So far, i understand very very little, like most writing here I believe.

Sorry, forgot to mention. Keyword price range was .10 to .25 with a 3-4% CTR.
