How is Sponsored listing on the main Google search page different from the sponsored links search results.
While trying to analyse the results, by clicking "More Sponsored Links" on the right hand sponsored listings, the page shows almost the same result (a few listed in different order) as listed on main Google search page sponsored links.

As far as I know, no difference at all. The results change constantly so this could be the reason you are seeing slight differences.
