I signed up a little over two weeks ago, created my ad set my keywords, got everything going.
Initially the ad was rejected because they said that the URL I provided was not resolving. This threw me for a loop because not only is the site already indexed in google, but I know for a fact that my site is accessible and has been, because I run the server it resides on and had experienced no downtime.
Finally I changed the URL to an alias. They accepted the alias which merely points to the original URL I submitted!
Now my ad is active (so they say) but I have absolutely 0 impressions and clicks for my keywords.
Its like pulling teeth trying to get a response from google, their last reply was four days ago stating that this will be forwarded to a technician.
I feel like I'm being descriminated against, like one of their other advertisers has the keywords locked down or something and they are refusing to serve my ad.
What should I do?
Initially the ad was rejected because they said that the URL I provided was not resolving.
Most often when this message is sent out, it is simply that there is a typo in destination URL, and clicking on the ad gives a Page Not Found error message.
Now my ad is active (so they say) but I have absolutely 0 impressions and clicks for my keywords.
When you see that a Campaign or Ad Group is marked 'Active' it means only one thing: The Campaign or Ad Group is not paused or deleted. There can still be a variety of reasons for the ad not to be running, and writing to support is the best way to troubleshoot this - if the reason is not evident to you.
I feel like I'm being descriminated against, like one of their other advertisers has the keywords locked down or something and they are refusing to serve my ad.
Believe me, this is not the case. No advertisers, regardless of their size of budget, is able to 'lock down' any keyword. I assure you it is not a matter of discrimination. It is a matter of some issue with your account, most likely a very simple one, that needs to be resolved.
A few examples, off the top of my head:
* Have you set an 'End Date' that is now in the past?
* Have you set a Maximum CPC that is higher than your daily budget?
* Are your keywords ones that must be reviewed before they can show your ad, due to a potentially sensitive nature?
* Is the ad marked 'Disapproved'?
* Are there unresolved issues with other accounts that you may have set up?
In answer to your last question, I'd suggest replying to the email you received, and asking for more detail.

Apparently I'll need to drop at least $20.00 a day at $1.00 max cpc to get an estimated 5-10 clicks a day.
I'm contemplating if this is worth it for me or not now hehe.
Thank you very much, everyone, for all your help.
I see how it works now, I guess I just misunderstood the whole impressions -vs- cpc thing.

No offense, but if this is your opinion, you're still not seeing how adwords works....
These figures may be just for your keywords...try figuring out some different ones. There is no market that has only 11 keywords that are all that expensive.
Also, as shak said above, don't pay too much attention to the budget estimator.
I think they need to work out some bugs in the interface, first of all.
I went through and setup individual cpc amounts per keyword, then clicked re-estimate traffic.
It actually showed me some activity, so I thought I had something going. Then I edited one of the keywords cpc, re-estimated, and ALL that info previously displayed disappeared and I was back to having no activity for any keyword.
Then as I am trying to figure out what just happened, I re-estimate again and they send me to the friggin login page?!?!
I click back, click re-evaluate again and I didn't go back to the login page but I still had no activity, so I threw my mouse out the window and went out for a drink...
I guess I am asking what is the reason for not using just 1 keyword like :
webmaster
as opposed to using something like :
webmaster this
webmaster that
webmaster the other
Mortgage = loads of expensive, timewasting traffic
UK Remortgage = well targetted, affordable traffic
UK Specialist Remortgage Broker = no traffic
So the generic versions of your terms will be the most expensive and the least likely to convert!
