When I first found this site, I thought I saw a post that had information regarding software that had the specific purpose of assisting with the management of a Google AdWords campaign.
I remember reading the info somewhere, but I am not sure it it was here at WebmasterWorld.
Can somebbody please tell me where I can find more info regarding this.
Thanks
Welcome to webmasterworld!
There are quite a few PPC management services around. As you probably know google adwords work differently to most PPC engine listings. I believe gotoast manages adwords but you may have to set up your campaigns in a specific way to do it right. I bet a search on this site for "PPC management" will provide some answers though.
I'm also inclined to think that adwords listings don't really need bid management(some might find it useful and I'd be interested to find out why). Performance is based on a combination of factors and you don't have to be in a specific position for the campaign to be successful. Copy and relevancy drive traffic regardless of what position you're in.

Bid management at Google is probably harder than any other PPC. Although it would appear that it's a lock and load that once you get in and get above 0.5% you can sit back, but the secrets for bid management are no different than other PPC's. The difference is that it is less exact, and thereby more prone to go off the boil.
What we tend to look for are keywords to put through the wringer, so to speak. You might start off with widgets, then you might try "widgets", and then you might try [widgets]
then you might try both "widgets" and [widgets] so the exact kicks in on clicks/impressions and the phrase match is like the catch-all. But, then you start to analyse the clicks from logs or tracking tools to find other keywords that maybe should come out of the catch all and into the phrase and exact in their own right.
It might also be that one keyword in a campaign is artificially inflating the overall cost of the campaigns generally, so you should look to isolate these and try to be a lot more specific with the title/description.
Generally speaking the cost that Google suggest can be undercut quite severely, or you can throttle with the daily total.
But we find Google the most demanding from a bid management perspective but it's not the up and down a few cents/pennies sort of management.
Additionally, it gave you several statistics that the Google control panel does not give you.
Anyone? Anyone?
diggle, there is no one secret to keeping the cost down. Niche keywords would be the tip I'd give you. I'm sue others will offer up theirs.
Google Adwords campaigns needs to be managed by humans that knows how to tweak a text to make it sell.
I have worked a lot with computer based processing of natural language. You can do a lot of nice stuff with such technology but I have yet to see just one single system that can produce ad copy that beat what I can do by hand! :)
On top of that comes keywyod selection and filtering. How on earth would the poor software know how to filter the keywords to make you a better business?
Before you hunt for too long, it's possible that you saw a post and that it's no longer around. If it was posted, it most likely would have been deleted, since we make it a practice not to post any tools or tools URLs.
From the Google News forum charter:
No Tools sites or urls please The explosion of Google related free and commercial site tools has opened a flood gate of url dropping to "tools" sites. Therefore, we request you don't post links to "Google tools" (there are dozens if not hundreds of them now as a result of the Google API).
It's possible that's why you can't find it; a Google search might be a better way to locate it. Sorry we couldn't help.
I know a couple of ad management applications specifically designed to handle textads...one is FREE ( open source, still under development...but u can download and start using their current version ) and another one professionally done which is commercial one!
Send me a PM...I'll reply with the URL's!
