I read somewhere google was to stop taking gambling ads everywhere by the end of april

But I have had a look at google.com and google.co.uk, and I can still see ads for gambling

Can anyone tell me what is happing with google and gambing ads

Considering how easy it is to open an Adwords account, it is probably more difficult than they thought to weed out every single gambling ad without accidentally also rejecting legitimate ads.

I'm still surprised that Google made this decision, because it surely must have chopped off about at least a hundred million in revenue a year for them. Maybe that is why they changed position on the trademark policy, in order to make up for that lost money.

not being negative here, but do you have any evidence to support even a figure remotely linked to the 100 million?

I'm purely guessing based on what I've read about the IPO. Google's revenue last year was 962 million, 96% of which is from advertising. Licensing only accounted for 4% of revenue, which surprises me.

Since it is my admittedly pessimistic view that the bulk of internet activity (well, spending) consists of gambling and porn, I figured that maybe 10% of that 962 million must have to do with gambling, thus the 100 million figure. I certainly don't have any confidence that that is true, however.
