Have Adwords have vanished from serps and content sites ?

AdSense began showing PSAs [webmasterworld.com] and the Google serps are also all Adword-free, no matter what search term is used.

This includes searches that should include pages of Adwords, but there is not a single one displaying.

What's interesting here, guys, is the way the region (or network) is affecting the serving. Not just by country, either; I'm in Cleveland and see AdWords/AdSense just fine, while a buddy is in Michigan and seems to not be seeing them.

I wonder if the load balancing for the ad serving is network based instead of region based, because of what we're seeing.

Guess I haven't been paying attention with adwords regional targeting. Last time I looked it was in beta but now it doesn't indicate so at all. During beta you could only choose five regions now there doesn't appear to be a regional limit. Also expanding out to a few more countries besides just the US. Perhaps this regional targeting is what screwed the whole thing up.

OK - back with good news. I'm told that things have been back to normal since about 1:15 PST. I've waited a bit before posting, just to make sure.

I'm not able to speak to exactly what occurred - but essentially there was an issue with some of the many servers whose job it is to deliver ads - now thankfully resolved.

Well, the best I can offer is to say that in the two years that I've been with AdWords, this is the first such occurrence. And you may be certain that it is a top priority that this not happen. ;)

I know it sounds corny, but in fact we're all in this together. Our success depends on your success. And I like to think that the reverse is true as well. It benefits no one when your ads are not showing, and we do not take it lightly.

I have to get someone to tell me why I can't see the adwords ads on partner or content match sites. I know the ads are being shown there, cause I've seen them on another computer. There is some java script in the source code of these pages that should display them on my monitor, but on my machine - nada. That area of the page is blank. I am running W98SE. IE 5.5, and I also have norton antivirus and zonealarm. But with those last 2 programs even totally off, still I see nothing. Any ideas? No thanks to Google, who is offering little else but cut and paste answers, which usually have no relation to my question. I wonder if an IPO of $25 billion will make that better or worse?
