A search for "[name of region] business" came up with an adword listing with title "[name of country] babes" and then a fairly explicit description.
Is this a "glitch" or a common occurance in others experience? Or has google relaxed their relevance criteria to almost nothing. (there has only recenlty be one adword listing for this term, before that - none)
My guess is that the advertiser has used the name of the country as the keyword without using square brackets. So whenever somebody types in name of the country along with any other keyword, the ad will be displayed.
For illustrative purposes lets say the query was "european business" (without the actual quote).
The title of the ad word listing was "french babes". All words in the copy referred to typical po*n words.
There are two concerns.
1. It is totally irrelevant (apart from the fact that france is in europe, it is totally irrelevant to the second term). Perhaps the advertiser has bidded on all country terms as well as the regional term. But really, bidding on " wildcard business" or "wildcard europe" for a por** term should be unacceptable to both Google and users.
2. I wouldnt want my daughter finding such words while doing a search for homework.
Google does have human intervention i think in adwords, unlike the SERPS. They have to be far more careful.
I hope its a glitch.
