Anyone else?
Perhaps a "californian" returned to the herb :-)
Thus, all my key words are showing up BUT the reports today show ZERO so we'll have more weirdness today.
My guess is Google initiated some programming changes during the T-giving break -- and it's blowing up!
What are they trying to change, is my question...?
YIKES!
by the way, this new system seems good to me. FREE ADVERTISING!
Do not think that. You are still getting traffic from Adwords as normal, the problem lies in the speed at which the server dispays the information, that is where the delay lies.
Sit tight, don't change any of the bids because you think you are missing out on traffic.
If you kind folks want to let your wallets do the testing perhaps you have more christmas spirit than I :-)
I wouldn't worry too much about your spend, Mark_A. Just make sure to set your daily limit to what you can afford, as well as max CPC. (Also check previous day or two totals to verify your daily spend)
The only reason I could think to pause is if you have a high max CPC set but competitiors are set to much less (like $0.50 to $0.10 or something), since theoretically a competitor change could jump you up to your max, but unless you log in every 10 minutes that scenario could likely slip by for several hours to a day anyway.
Or I guess if your credit card is really tight, or something...
But no way I'm pausing my ads, 'tis the xmas season! I admit the lagging reports is a little frustrating, but not too bad. As long as the ads are working i'm not going to complain too much.
i replied that that the word i wanted in my ad was indeed "how" and by using "now" it would not only change the meaning of the ad, but it would turn the sentence into nonsense. they turned the ad back on, but it took *two days.*
this sort of thing happens at least twice a month! but that's been the extent of my difficulties... up till now.
for the past few days, i've noticed the discrepancies and the delayed reporting just as you've noted in this thread. i wasn't too bothered by it, because the clicks were coming. although, even a day later, it still didn't look like i was paying for every click i got, as my logs seemed to show far more clicks than the adwords interface does.
again, i wasn't too worried about it.
but it did occur to me that the downside of that is that ultimately it will effect your CTR, particularly if, as they "fix" the problems, they report impressions first... and then much later, or not at all, report the clicks.
which seems to be what happened to me.
tonight, they slowed all my campaigns, stating they had insufficient CTR. i wrote a polite letter to them saying, in essence, "gosh, i don't think so. and, by the way, haven't you noticed your software is running kinda screwy?"
a couple of hours later, i got yet another notice that i was not meeting minimum CTR, which i know can't be the case, as i paused all my marginal ads in the interim and only the super high performing ads were left on.
a couple of hours later, they slowed me down and locked me out again, awaiting a $5 payment to restore complete delivery of all campaigns.
which, again, i know is an error because after the second notice, i paused *all* my ads. so how could my CTR be going down if i wasn't running any ads?
look, i'm a big fan of google adwords; they've really started to work well for me, they convert into sales and i'm sure i'll continue to use them. but in the best of times, their customer service is spotty.
and right now, they have a major public relations nightmare on their hands and they really need to get into damage control very quickly.
I got 3 (!) clicks from an Adwords campaign in the last 24 hours
You are NOT talking about stats here right?
What happened to your ads? Are you able to view the ads yourself when you enter the keywords? Check both Google and AOL.
Also check the campaign details. Have your ads been disapproved? And yeah, the crazy buggy system seems to disable high CTR keywords too. Check all your high traffic keywords.
